Looks terrific! I’m not really sure how to use Notes, but want to, so the timing is perfect. As you say, timing is everything.

Up at 4am researching why my note postings end up in the void and the universe shows me this! A sign? A coincidence? A working algorithm? Internet goblins or… is someone watching me??

I had the exact same feeling! Maybe we're all tapping into something special right now :)

You know what else is interesting - just in the last week I’ve been looking for a van to buy for my first attempt at van life, so something mystical is definitely going on.

Yes I noticed that on your bio, I've been having a lot of these serendipitous moments lately! I'm looking for your vanlife resources but I can't find them on your page. My plan is to travel up and down the East Coast of Australia for the summer.

This sounds amazing. I'm a newborn here. I will be off the grid for parts of the summer. Is this still s good time to join or will I lose the sense of community and collaboration available and fall behind?

Good question.

How much of July will you be off the grid?

Benefit of joining now is getting it probably 50% cheaper than it will be in a few months.

Hard to tell what you will miss by not being part of the first community. But we will aim to create an amazing experience for everybody no matter when they join.

That's amazing writing opportunity for Substack subscribers. But I have a question for French writers like me.

Is it possible to get the same value on our communities with this Substack Campfire ?

Hey Luc - Wonderful to e-meet you.

Good question!

If you are just writing for a french audience, then I'm not sure how many people you will reach via Substack's Notes.

However, if you're writing for a broad audience, which it looks like your posts are, then you would get the same value in participating in the communities in Substack Campfire! People in the challenge will be from all over the world.

This is a wonderful opportunity! I’m just curious or mindful perhaps that given the fact I’m in Australia and the time difference I wouldn’t be able to attend most of the sessions live. Will they be recorded and do you think it’ll affect feeling part of the cohort ?

I applied for a scholarship for this since times are hard. Any word on if it was received?

Community, relationships and mindset are the secret sauce in a long term writing career. Campfire hasn't begun and I have already connected with people in our cohort.

It's going to be amazing!! Notes is an incredible way to build the connections we need to grow our Newsletters. But of course You have to do the work.

Mindset: "How can I help?"

The focus has to be on others.

It's not magic 🪄

But when you consistently write Notes and articles, interact snd engage with other writers and do this every single day - it's magical when compounding effort kicks in.

It seems like nothing is happening and then everything happens.

Hey Takarudana! They can influence them significantly. In my past writing cohorts, we saw that 70% of students wrote consistently throughout the month long program. With my self-driven online courses, though, I typically saw that 30% of people finished the course at all. Cohorts have a massive effect on keeping people going and creating a writing habit, and that forward momentum helps a lot of people who would otherwise post nothing go viral and see success.

Great response Tom. I would also add that relationships are fundamental to this cohort. And, a relationship that turns into an ongoing collaboration or mastermind can fundamentally shift the trajectory of one’s career.
